Hello!
This week we finished up the first half of our Science units with a quiz in both grade 4 and 5. We continued working on Informational Writing, drafting and revising our second informational book. We began exploring fractions in Math, and learned the french color names. Next week we continue working with fractions and decimals, write a third informational book, and dive into our second social unit! LOTG is on Thursday, Dec. 6. We also begin Winter Concert rehearsals next week (fun!). Classroom job applications for round two are due back on Monday, and Grade 5 basketball permission forms are due back next week as well. Reminders for next week:

This week was another short week. Thanks to all of the parents who were able to come in and chat with me at the Parent Teacher Interviews! If you were unable to make it on Thursday, please email me, and we can set up a time for you to come in and chat quickly about your child's progress so far this year. We continued working on decimals in Math, had our first few Informational Writing lessons, and continued with our Electricity and Simple Machines Science units.
Next week, our grade 5s are going to the Galt museum on Wednesday (the 28th). We will have a Science Quiz on Thursday (both grades), and we'll be writing two more Informational books in Writers' Workshop. We're introducing fractions in Math, and we'll begin learning the french names for colours! Finally, we have Mustache Day on Friday. Reminders for next week:
Thanks for reading! Mr. V Well, it looks like I missed another week. Things have gotten busy around here! We finished our social units, began our new Science units (Wheels and Levers, and Electricity and Magnetism), began a new writing unit (Information writing!), a new Math unit (Decimals and Fractions), started Badminton in Gym, and still managed to spend some time reading and working on art projects. We also had Rock Your Mocs on Thursday, and were treated to some amazing traditional dances, organized by our school FNMI liaison.
This coming week is another short one (Thursday and Friday are off) and I'm looking forward to meeting with parents on Thursday! We don't have too much out of the ordinary going on during the week, but make sure to check the lost and found items in the hallway by the gym throughout the week. All items not claimed after parent teacher interviews will be donated! Things to remember: - Parent Teacher interviews on Thursday - No school on Thursday and Friday Thanks for reading!
