This week we began our first full science units (Waste and Our World, and Wetland Ecosystems), started looking at developing believable characters in Writers' Workshop, and focused on Expanded Form in Math. We had our Bus Evacuation practice on Thursday, as well as a visit from award-winning author Faith Hicks. On Friday we had our first Kids in the Know lesson, reviewing the 7 root strategies.
Next week we'll move on to comparing numbers in Math. We'll continue working on characters in Writing, and we'll continue on with the same Science units. Reminders for next week: - Individual Pictures are on Tuesday - Terry Fox walk/run is on Wednesday Also a heads up, Orange Shirt day will be held Oct. 1 in our district. Orange Shirt Day is also an opportunity for First Nations, local governments, schools and communities to come together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for generations of children to come. Thanks for reading! Mr. V
