Hello Parents and Guardians!
As I hope your child has shared with you, I will be trying something a little different this year with regards to classroom jobs. Listed below are a number of classroom jobs (with descriptions) that your child may apply for. We have gone over the application process in class, so your child will be familiar with it: I ask that they complete the application form (on their own, or with your help) and bring it back to school by Tuesday, Sept 11. They may fill out an application for more than one job, although I ask that they indicate their top choices in numerical order. I've expressed to the students the importance of doing their jobs well - these jobs help our classroom run smoothly, and the expectations are clear. Therefore, if a student is not doing a good job, they may be asked to step down, and another student will take their place. At the end of November (and again in March), students will have the opportunity to re-apply for jobs, and we can change things up a bit. The jobs are as follows: Tech Guru - in charge of SMARTboard remote, and helping classmates who don't know how to do something on a computer/iPad Librarian - keep classroom library tidy and make sure that library books are returned the morning of our book exchange Sweeper - sweep the floor before going outside at lunch recess and at the end of the day Sanitizer - wipe down tables, desks, and other surfaces before going outside at lunch recess and as needed Class Photographer - use Mr. V's iPad to take photos and videos of our daily classroom activities to be shared during weekly blogs and on FreshGrade Supply Manager - checks students supplies once a week and replaces missing supplies Side Kick - delivers materials/messages for Mr. V, fills in if a student is missing and cannot do their job. Handy - in charge of handing out papers and supplies Thank you for helping your child fill out the Job Application. Next week, the students will find out if they have been hired for a job, and which job. If your child was not selected for a job, remind them that jobs will be switching in November, and students who haven't yet had a job will be chosen first for that round. Thanks, Mr. V
